Starting a business—or growing one—can feel overwhelming when you’re caught in the annual goal-setting cycle. You start the year with big dreams, but by December, those goals are gathering dust. Sound familiar?

You’re not alone. Many coaches and entrepreneurs face this frustration, wondering how to actually grow their online business and hit those financial targets.

But here’s the truth: annual goals aren’t the problem—it’s how you approach them.

Instead of setting big, long-term goals that feel impossible to reach, what if you focused on shorter, 90-day sprints? My 90-day goal setting process (with reverse engineering) breaks your goals into manageable chunks, making it easier to stay on track and take action. This mindset shift is what sets successful businesses apart.

Ready to make the next three months your most productive yet? Let’s break it down step by step.

1. Set a Realistic Income Goal

Let’s start with money. What’s your income goal for the next 90 days?

It should be a number that stretches you but still feels achievable. Whether you’re aiming for $12,000 or going after a bolder goal like $25,000—or even six figures in a quarter—this is your opportunity to dream big and make it happen. Forget what other coaches or Instagram influencers are doing—this is about your business, your vision, and where you are right now.

Here’s an example: If your target income for Q2 is $12,000, write that number down and commit to making it happen. If you’re aiming higher, the process is the same: break it down into steps that feel doable.

(Don’t worry, I’ll walk you through how to do that!)

And remember, bold goals don’t work without a strategy. What you do today will determine your income 90 days from now.

That means focusing on small daily actions that actually move the needle and generate ROI—not just checking off busywork. This is about intentional effort and results-driven action.

Ready? Let’s break those goals down into something tangible and actionable.

2. Your Power of 3 Offer Formula

Now that you have your income goal, it’s time to decide which offers will help you reach it. Instead of putting all your energy into just one offer, consider providing three levels of offers. This gives potential clients options to say “yes” in a way that feels right for them, rather than a simple yes-or-no decision.

For example:

  • A premium one-on-one coaching package for clients who want hands-on, personalized support.
  • A mid-level option, such as a group coaching program or workshop, for those who need guidance but prefer a collaborative environment.
  • A lower-ticket resource, like a digital product or self-paced course, to attract new leads and build trust with those just getting started.

Offering multiple options not only meets your audience where they are but also takes the pressure off you when you’re promoting. Instead of feeling like you have to sell just one thing, you’re giving your audience choices—while still driving toward your income goals.

This strategy works whether you’re focusing on private clients, digital products, or a mix of both. By diversifying your offers, you’re creating opportunities for clients to engage with you at different levels, all while moving closer to your 90-day goals.

3. Crunch the Numbers

Here’s where the magic happens: turning your income goal into an actionable plan.

Let’s stick with the example of a $12,000 goal for Q2. Say you’re focusing on one main offer, such as a coaching program priced at $1,000 per client.

Here’s how the math works:

  • To hit your $12,000 goal, you’ll need to sign 12 clients:
    $12,000 ÷ $1,000 per client = 12 clients.
  • If your conversion rate is 20% (meaning 1 in 5 people you pitch says yes), you’ll need to get your offer in front of 60 people:
    12 clients ÷ 20% conversion rate = 60 people.

This step is a game-changer because it makes your goal tangible. You’re no longer staring at a big, scary number—you know exactly how many people you need to reach.

4. Expand Your Reach

With your numbers in hand, it’s time to get your offer in front of those 60 people. Think about where your ideal clients hang out online and how you can show up there meaningfully.

A few strategies to grow your online business and attract clients:

  • Collaborate with other entrepreneurs.
  • Guest blog or appear on podcasts in your niche.
  • Host a free webinar or workshop to showcase your expertise.
  • Build relationships through email marketing or strategic partnerships.

This isn’t about throwing spaghetti at the wall—it’s about showing up where it matters most and connecting with your audience in a way that feels authentic.

5. Craft Your Marketing Plan

Now that you know your numbers and where to find your audience, let’s create a simple marketing plan.

Think about:

  • Your promotion schedule: Will you run a special offer or launch during this quarter?
  • Your nurture strategy: How will you follow up with leads to build trust and move them closer to saying yes?
  • Your conversion strategy: What’s the clear call to action at each stage?

Pro tip: Don’t overcomplicate this. Stick to what works for your business and add new strategies as you go.

6. Build Your Support Network

You don’t have to do this alone. Whether it’s hiring a virtual assistant, joining a supportive community, or working with a coach, having the right people in your corner can make all the difference.

Ask yourself:

  • What tasks could I delegate to free up more time?
  • Where do I need accountability or guidance to stay on track?

Even seasoned business owners know that success is a team sport. Don’t hesitate to invest in the resources and support you need to thrive.
