Are you struggling to be heard in a crowded online market? It could be that you’re trying to appeal to everyone instead of the clients who need you the most. Here’s a truth bomb – trying to cater to everyone can leave you stretched thin, and guess what? Your message won’t resonate with anyone.
This video shares how to find your perfect niche that can skyrocket your growth. This applies whether you are brand new or have been in the game but not getting the traction you want.
The show notes are below.
So why is finding your niche so important? Well, let’s be real – you can’t serve everyone. By zeroing in on a specific group, you can tailor your message, your offers, your content, and value in a way that attracts your perfect fit clients. Think of it as becoming the go-to expert in your field. It’s all about quality, not quantity.
With that out of the way, let’s jump into the steps to nail your niche. It takes a little bit of work but the time and frustration you’ll save is so worth it!
Step 1: What Makes You You?
- What is your unique story, and why did you decide to become a coach? This is the essence of your brand, and it needs to resonate with your audience. There’s a good chance you went through the transformation you take clients through now
- What lights your fire? Identify your passions and expertise.
Combining these will help you to find your niche. This sweet spot is where you can be authentic and provide the most value.
Step 2: Market Research.
- Put your detective hat on! Investigate existing coaches in the niche you think you should be in to see what they offer
- Then look for the gaps because these are unmet needs that you may be able to fill
This research will help you tailor your services to meet those needs head-on.
Step 3: Create a Customer Avatar.
Picture your ideal client – what are their goals, challenges, and values? Crafting a detailed client profile will help you fine-tune your message and services to resonate with them. This can include demographics like age, location, etc. and psychographics.
Here are three easy-to-implement tips to help you create that profile:
Tip 1: Ask yourself, “What does my ideal client want to solve and why” Understand their pain points.
Tip 2: Think about their aspirations. Ask, “What does success look like for them?”
Tip 3: Dig into their lifestyle. “What media do they consume?”, “Where do they hang out online?”. This can help you craft content that’s right up their alley.
Step 4: Validate Your Niche.
Dip your toes in the water. You can do this by…
- Sharing some content like a lead magnet (easiest to do)
- Offer a free workshop
- Invite some people in your target audience to answer some interview questions (not a sales pitch!)
These can help you gauge the response and get feedback to determine if you are on the right track. It’s less time-consuming and costly than creating an offer that flops because you’re marketing to the wrong niche!
Step 5: Deep Dive and Commit.
Once you’ve confirmed your niche…
Immerse yourself so you can learn and grow within this space.
And…engage with your community via social media and grow your email list so you can build your authority as the go-to expert.
Step 6: Keep Adapting.
Stay alert to the evolving needs and trends within your niche. Be ready to refine your offerings and methods to ensure you remain a relevant and sought-after coach.
And that’s how you do it!
Finding your niche is like finding your tribe – the people who will truly benefit from and value what you have to offer. So, let’s say goodbye to the overwhelm and hello to a focused, thriving coaching business.
